Assessment and Therapy

As a mobile service, we can offer sessions at your own home, supported accommodation, nursing home, school, university, workplace, or the local café. We also offer periodic group therapy programs and are proud to deliver telehealth appointments to clients throughout Australia, including people living in rural and remote areas.

Insight Rehab provides assessment and therapy for cognitive, communication, and swallowing disabilities including:

  • Cognitive disabilities such as problems with memory, concentration, planning and organisation.

  • Cognitive-communication disorder- difficulties with communication (such as listening, speaking, reading, writing, and social interaction) caused by underlying cognitive disability.

  • Aphasia- difficulty with basic language abilities caused by brain injury, such as understanding and expressing spoken and written words and sentences.

  • Dysarthria- unclear speech caused by muscle weakness, paralysis, or incoordination.

  • Apraxia- a motor planning disorder resulting in difficulty programming and coordinating the movements needed for speech.

  • Dysphagia- difficulty chewing and swallowing certain foods and liquids. Symptoms can include drooling, coughing when eating and drinking, or food ‘sticking’ in the throat.

  • Stuttering and other fluency disorders- a disorder of speech resulting in the pausing, repeating, or prolonging of sounds or syllables.
